Time and time again as people were leaving the annual clothing sale on October 8th, they asked the same question. “Is it really only a dollar per bag?”
Yes! And we even give you the bag!
Thank you to everyone who donated clothes and helped with sorting and running the sale. This annual event is a success because of everyone who supports it, and it helps the community in many different ways:
- Giving people an opportunity to “recycle” their unwanted clothes by donating them for the sale
- Giving people an opportunity to purchase good quality items at an amazingly affordable price
- Proceeds from the sale get donated to other charities helping people in our community
- Leftovers from the sale get donated to other thrift shops and clothes distribution charities
This year’s sale raised $485, which we will be splitting between the Helping Hands Rescue Mission in Portage, Precious Life in Johnstown, and Hosanna Industries in Johnstown.
Remaining “leftover” clothes were donated to the Franklin Street United Methodist Church Men’s Store, St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store, St. Francis Sharing and Caring Thrift Store, and the Greater Johnstown Elementary School.
Thanks again for all of your help in making the sale a success!
